Signposting for your cafe

If your cafe is a little of the beaten track, it can be hard to attract walk-in customers. However, rather than thinking of the location you are in as a roadblock, think of it as an opportunity. You are a hidden gem that people will discover and tell their friends about. You are a hideaway from the drag of day-to-day life. In order to spread the word, you need to have some great signs around the place, not just big billboards, but quirky signs that people remember and want to follow. Come inside and learn about signposting your cafe, your way.

Should you consider Perspex rather than glass?

Are you think about installing a glass protective screen or any other glass feature? Have you considered the advantages of using Perspex sheeting as an alternative? Acrylic sheets, such as Perspex or Plexiglass, have considerable advantages over traditional glass sheets and can be used for almost exactly the same purposes.

Why use Perspex sheeting?

The main advantage of using glass over an alternative material is that you can see through the glass. However, glass also comes with some significant disadvantages. It is heavy compared to other materials and it can easily become chipped or cracked, leading to a need to completely replace the sheet. If you decide to use Perspex or another acrylic sheet instead of glass, you will have a stronger sheet that is lighter and much less susceptible to cracking or breaking. In addition, a clear Perspex sheet often provides greater clarity than a comparable glass panel.

Where can you find Perspex sheeting?

Perspex sheeting is normally provided in large sheets in excess of three metres in width, and before you can use it, you will need to find a company that offers cut-to-size acrylic sheeting. Cutting Perspex isn't difficult, but you must be certain that your company is capable of cutting the acrylic cleanly and repeatably so you know that every time you use their services you are going to get a product that you can use with confidence that won't display any unsightly cracks or chips. Here are two other questions that you should ask any company where you want to buy cut-to-size perspex sheeting.

What finishes are available?

When you work with Perspex sheets, you often want them clear to resemble glass but that isn't the only option. Perspex sheets are available in matte and high gloss as well clear. The company should also be willing to polish your product prior to shipping so that it arrives at your site ready for immediate use.

Can you do further fabrication work?

It is vital that the company can provide cut-to-size Perspex sheeting, but while they are working on the sheet, it could make sense for them to carry out any other drilling or cutting work that the sheet will require. If the Perspex will need screw holes created before you can use it, why not let the cutting company make them for you and save time later in the production process?
